Vasudha Thozhur, an artist based in Baroda, will present her recent paintings.
Vasudha Thozhur studied Painting at The College of Arts and Crafts, Madras and at The Croydon School of Art and Design, U.K. She lived and worked in Madras till 1997, and has since been based in Baroda. She has received prestigious grants, including the French Government Scholarship and the Charles Wallace Grant, both in 1996. Some of her memorable artists’ residencies have been at Cite Internationale des Arts, Paris; Gasworks Studios, London; Lake Naivasha, Kenya, and Khoj, New Delhi, between 1998 and 2000. Her travels and the resulting relationships with people have been the most significant directive factor in her work. The artist will present her work from the point of view of her most recent paintings and use that as a basis for discussing certain questions, which concern us all in our contemporary context.
